| FEEDING DIRECTIONS |
| The FRM EXCEL TUB BLOCK IS formulated to be fed to mature beef cattle, dry dairy cattle and growing heifers, on a free-choice basis while they are grazing pastures with adequate fair to good quality grass and/or receiving good quality hay. It can also be fed in conjunction with silage or green-chop. Consumption of FRM EXCEL TUB BLOCK should be approximately 1 – 1.5 pounds per head per day, depending on the quality and amount of forage that is available. If consistently high consumption of FRM EXCEL TUB BLOCK is experienced, your feeding program should be examined (see Important consumption Information below). It is important that your cattle have been on a high quality FRM Free Choice Mineral for at least one week prior to the introduction of the FRM EXCEL TUB BLOCK. It is also important that your cattle have been receiving adequate forage from a good quality grass, hay or green-chop prior to the introduction of the FRM EXCEL TUB BLOCK. Do not feed F-R-M Excel Tub Block in conjunction with other NPN-(Urea) containing feeds. Cattle that are cleaning up fields where crops such as soybeans have been grown (they are known to contain a high level of urease activity) should not be fed F-R-M Excel Tub Block. The urease enzyme activity can cause urea to break down. At least one week prior to and during the feeding of F-R-M Excel Tub Block a high quality F-R-M Free Choice Mineral should be provided. Also see that the animals have an unlimited supply of clean, fresh water. Once F-R-M Excel Tub Blocks have been introduced to your herd, you should maintain a fresh supply at all times. Supply one 250 pound (113.4 kg) Block for every 10-13 head of cattle Feed F-R-M Excel Tub Block near a water source or near areas where cattle loaf. On range or in large pastures, make the Blocks available in more than one location. If your cattle run out of F-R-M Excel Tub Block, observe them closely for three days after refeeding in order to prevent overconsumption. |
| IMPORTANT CONSUMPTION INFORMATION |
| The F-R-M Excel Tub Block has been designed to be fed with forages of fair to good quality. It is fed free choice; therefore, consumption will vary depending on the quality and/or quantity of forage available to the animals, the condition of the cattle, previous feeding programs, type of mineral program being used and the feeding location of the tubs. Cattle may need to adapt to F-R-M Excel Tub Block before the correct consumption is reached. If consumption is low, good forage quality and the feeding location may be the reason. If consumption is higher than desired, the quality and/or quantity of forage may need to be increased. If the forage is adequate, you may want to consider placing the Blocks further away from loafing or watering areas and, at the same time, reducing the number of Blocks available to the cattle. |
