Enclosed cup holds approximately 1/2 pound of dry F-R-M Instant Milk Replacer Medicated powder.  We recommend for accurate feeding to calibrate the measuring cup.

MIXING DIRECTIONS

  • Always weigh milk replacer powder for accurate mixing.
  • Add 8 ounces of milk replacer powder to 2 quarts of 110° – 120° F water and mix thoroughly.  Feed immediately after mixing.  Each quart of milk replacer  will then contain 11.25 milligrams of lasalocid.

Add 8 ounces of milk replacer powder to 2 quarts of water to provide proper lasalocid (Bovatec®) medication level.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS (2 DAYS OF AGE TO WEANING)

Always offer free choice water.
Feed the following amounts of milk replacer twice daily per calf.

CALF
WEIGHT
POUNDS
MG LASALOCID
REQUIRED
PER CALF PER DAY
QUARTS FED

TWICE A DAY
100 45 2.0
125 57 2.5
150 68 3.0

Feed during periods of coccidiosis exposure or when experience indicates coccidiosis is likely to be a problem.

IMPORTANT:  Thoroughly mix milk replacer powder in warm water, and feed immediately.  When preparing large batches (i.e. anything other than individual calf servings) keep the mixture agitated while dispensing into individual feeding containers to prevent any settling which could result in the feeding of improper levels of lasalocid.

FITTING SHOW CATTLE (for maximum bloom)

May be started at 4 weeks of age or 6 months before show.  0.5 to 2.5 cups F-R-M Instant Milk Replacer Medicated daily sprinkled over grain mixture. It is best to begin feeding 0.5 cup daily and gradually increase until calf is consuming 2.5 cups (1.25 lbs.) daily (100 to 125 lbs. per ton of mixture). This amount of F-R-M Instant Milk Replacer Medicated is equivalent to 17.4 lbs. of whole milk (compare the cost). Reduce Milk Replacer slightly should droppings become too soft.  Feed F-R-M Sho-Bloom Pellets according to directions.

MANAGEMENT TIPS

For best mixing, sprinkle milk replacer powder onto water. Use a wire whisk to agitate powder and water. Fresh, clean water should be available at all times. Feeding and mixing equipment should be cleaned after each feeding. Introduce F-R-M Calf Starter at 7 days of age. Offer free choice hay after weaning. Wean calves when eating at least 1.5 to 2 pounds F-R-M Calf Starter per head per day.
